Official airline excess-baggage fees

Last checked 19 October 2026 · 4 official or direct sources

Baggage fees are airline charges, not Philippine government departure fees. Cebu Pacific publishes a 20 kg online bag at ₱1,000 domestic, ₱2,000 short-haul international and ₱3,000 long-haul international. The corresponding airport prices are ₱2,500, ₱3,500 and ₱6,000 1. Philippine Airlines publishes domestic prepaid baggage from ₱825 for 15 kg to ₱2,750 for 50 kg, effective 26 February 2026 2. AirAsia Philippines says pre-booking can save up to ₱919 against airport rates, with allowances from 20 kg to 60 kg and a 32 kg limit per bag 3. Always price the exact flight in the airline's own booking system.

Cebu Pacific limits

GO Basic has no checked bag. GO Easy and GO Flexi include one 20 kg piece under the published baggage guide 1.

A passenger can buy up to three pieces online. Each starts at 20 kg and can be upgraded by 4 kg, 8 kg or 12 kg. A single piece cannot exceed 32 kg 1.

Cebu Pacific says online additions close two hours before departure and rates can change without notice 1.

PAL route rules

PAL says prepaid rates apply per sector and vary by destination. Its table took effect on 26 February 2026 2.

Baggage beyond the prepaid allowance is charged at the standard excess rate on the difference. Special items, pets, oversized baggage and cabin-seat baggage are outside the prepaid product 2,4.

The free allowance on the ticket controls. A separately ticketed domestic connection can have its own allowance 4.

AirAsia Philippines

AirAsia Philippines says passengers may check multiple bags if their total remains within the purchased or complimentary allowance. Available purchased allowances range from 20 kg to 60 kg 3.

Each individual checked bag is capped at 32 kg. The airline says pre-booking can save up to ₱919 compared with airport pricing 3.

The official announcement does not publish one fixed peso table for every route. Use AirAsia's own booking or Manage My Booking quote for the flight.

Avoid surprise charges

  • Read the allowance on the exact ticket
  • Add baggage through the airline before its online cut-off
  • Weigh each piece, not just the total
  • Check dimensions and special-item rules
  • Use the operating airline's site when a codeshare is involved
