Tourist visa extension fees and current BI charges

Last checked 19 October 2026 · 5 official or direct sources

A non-visa-required tourist's first 29-day visa waiver used a published total of ₱2,330 in the 2025 BI Citizen's Charter 1. That table included a ₱500 express-lane fee. BI Memorandum Circular 25-004 then increased the express-lane fee from ₱500 to ₱1,000 after the charter was issued 2. BI's older service page shows a ₱3,030 first-waiver total, but labels its fees as updated in March 2014 3. These official pages are not a safe basis for one universal current total. Obtain a BI Order of Payment Slip for the applicant's nationality, age, stay and record before paying.

First 29-day visa waiver

A national admitted visa-free for 30 days can request a 29-day waiver. BI calls this the first extension for an eligible non-visa-required tourist 3.

The 2025 Citizen's Charter itemized ₱500 certification, ₱500 express service for the certificate, ₱500 extension, ₱300 application, ₱500 express-lane service and ₱30 legal research, totalling ₱2,330 1.

The later 2025 circular raised the standard express-lane fee to ₱1,000. The source does not support silently substituting every line or publishing a new universal total, so use the current BI assessment 2.

Extensions after 59 days

BI's 2025 charter lists a two-month extension charge of ₱1,000. It then adds application, certification, express, ACR, head-tax and ECC or exemption components according to nationality and age 1.

The table lists a higher application and express charge for a visa-required adult than for a non-visa-required adult 1.

A tourist who stays more than 59 days requires an ACR I-Card under BI's published rules. Dollar-linked card fees and payment-provider charges can affect the final peso total 4,5.

Why totals differ

Age changes ACR, head-tax and ECC components. Nationality changes some application and express charges. Length of stay can add a residence certificate or other registration item 1,3.

Overstay fines and a motion for reconsideration are separate from an on-time extension. The older BI service page expressly warns that its 2014 fee display can change 3.

A third-party quote should not override the official Order of Payment Slip. Pay through BI and retain the official receipt.

How to apply

  • Apply about seven days before the authorized stay expires 4
  • Use the official CGAF form and passport 3
  • Choose an authorized BI office or official e-Services route 3,5
  • Review every line on the Order of Payment Slip
  • Resolve any overstay or record issue before travel

Common questions

How much is the first Philippine tourist visa extension?

The 2025 charter showed ₱2,330, then BI raised the express-lane fee. Get a current assessment rather than relying on the old total 1,2.

How many days does the first waiver add?

It adds 29 days for an eligible non-visa-required tourist admitted for 30 days 3.

When should I apply?

BI's FAQ recommends filing seven days before the current stay expires 4.

Do I need an ACR I-Card?

BI says temporary visitors staying more than 59 days fall within ACR I-Card registration 4.

Can I pay through a private agent?

Use a BI assessment and official payment route. An agent's quote is not the government fee schedule.
