Published rates

CAAP classifies Puerto Princesa as an international airport. Its 2025 passenger service charge schedule set ₱900 for international departures and ₱350 for domestic departures at that airport class 2,3.

The new amounts applied to tickets bought on or after 21 April 2025. A ticket bought earlier kept the passenger service charge collected under the prior schedule 3.

The checked official record does not show a later Puerto Princesa-only rate order. The current e-ticket is the best transaction record for the amount collected.

Why the fee is in the ticket

CAAP's integration rules use airlines as collecting agents for passenger service charges. The fee is paid at the point of sale rather than at a separate terminal counter in the ordinary case 4.

The fee is charged for departure and funds the airport system. An arriving passenger does not pay a second Puerto Princesa departure charge for that arrival 4.

Travel tax is different. It is a national charge collected for TIEZA on an international departure from the Philippines, and it has its own exemptions.

Exempt passengers

CAAP rules provide exemptions for defined passengers such as infants, crew, qualifying transfer passengers, passengers denied entry and OFWs on international travel 4.

An exempt passenger may still see a fee in a ticket when status was not established at booking. Use the airline or airport refund process with the required document 4.

A domestic flight does not carry Philippine travel tax, but it can carry the domestic passenger service charge 3.

How the airport is classified

CAAP's aerodrome data identifies Puerto Princesa as an international airport with the RPVP code. CAAP includes it in Area Center IV 1,2.

The classification matters since the CAAP schedule sets different domestic charges for international, Principal Class 1, Principal Class 2 and community airports 3.

Published infrastructure or procurement work does not itself change the passenger charge. Look for a CAAP rate circular or an operator notice before using a new amount.

Before you fly

  • Check the ticket fee line for the airport charge 4
  • Use the international or domestic rate that matches the flight 3
  • Bring exemption proof if it applies 4
  • Check the separate travel-tax requirement for an international departure
